SPOT AS is carrying out the CN Expansion project for YARA.

SPOT AS is delivering piping systems and installation for Yara's CN Expansion project in Porsgrunn, which aims to increase the production capacity of calcium nitrate by expanding the dissolution and storage facilities.

SPOT AS is proud to be part of the CN Expansion project for Yara Porsgrunn – a key initiative aimed at increasing production capacity and strengthening delivery reliability in the production of calcium nitrate.

The goal of the project is to improve access to calcium nitrate melt by expanding the capacity for dissolving limestone in nitric acid. This is achieved through the installation of new dissolution process units in plant FGJ 2, as well as the construction of two new storage tanks for liquid calcium nitrate products. These measures will help ensure greater uptime and more stable operations in the downstream CN production.

SPOT AS is responsible for the fabrication and installation of the piping systems in the project, including approximately 2,250 meters of pipe ranging from DN15 to DN600, made from various types of stainless steel. The media handled in the plant include limestone, calcium nitrate solution, nitric acid, steam, water, air, and process additives.

The work spans the period from March 1, 2023, to September 15, 2024, and is being carried out in close cooperation with Yara’s project organization.

With this project, SPOT AS continues its role as a reliable partner for complex industrial projects – delivering high quality, precision, and safety at every stage.

We thank Yara for their trust and look forward to delivering strong results!
